About Us
Blame it on my Easy-Bake oven! With half of the batter eaten before it passed under the light bulb, I should have known there would be cake decorating in my future!
Lavish Confections is all about memories. The pleasure of baking began when I was strong enough to pull a chair to my grandmother's, mother's, or my father's side to observe their individual ritual of keeping the family's sweet tooth satisfied. After school, I'd sneak into the cake pan, holding the lid tightly so it wouldn't rattle, allowing me to get in and out without even alerting the family dog.
As an adult, I've continued this ongoing relationship with butter and sugar. We have quite a history together, the three of us! Creating desserts as well as sharing them is definitely what I am meant to do in this lifetime. I'm doing what I love.
I have always loved to make cakes for special occasions, Something about the reaction on someone's face when they see a cake that was made just for them is such a wonderful feeling. However with life being as busy is it can be my passion was put on the back burner until Sept. 5th 2008, when for the first time in years, made my own wedding cake. It was so beautiful and the compliments that came because of that work of art were endless. From that day on I have slowly been making cakes for friends and family. Loving every minute of it!
